Session 9 – Sidecar

We continue on to one of the further chambers, down a dark corridor. Ducard uses his flashlight to help us navigate. Suddenly we see someone run past the glow of the flashlight, and we hear a gutteral cry coming from the room. We decide to hold at the entrance while Goodwin heals Maiura and Slate, and fixes Ducard’s crossbow. During this time we hear scratching and scurrying coming from the room ahead. Gabriel hears some sort of chanting.

After almost an hour a group of zombified men in rags descend on us from all sides. There is a crone with each group who seem to be controlling them. Gabriel is briefly enchanted by one of them but manages to break free of her control. We are able to kill the two crones and their influence is dropped. The men fall unconscious. While the rest of us search the area, Tailspin takes the initiative and murders all of the German men where they lay.

We leave the caverns and burn everything as we go. We go back to our car and start back towards the church. About halfway through our trip, we notice that we are suddenly being followed by a car and two motorcycles with sidecars. Maiura sees that they have the same pins as the Germans we saw in the forest.

Goodwin creates a smokescreen behind the cars as we pull off the road and wait for them to pass. As they go by we shoot them and the car and motorcycles go off the road. We take a few more shots and the Germans are all killed. We decide to take the bodies with bullet holes with us so it looks like a simple car accident. Ducard takes one of the motorcycles with a sidecar, though it is pretty dinged up.

We return to Berlin and to Von Keller’s lab. We explain what happened with the witches and the hammer, and Gabriel (reluctantly) gives the hammer to Westmore. He says that they will do some studies on the hammer. They are able to fix Ducard’s crossbow and motorcycle.

Westmore explains that he is glad we have come back since he has a new mission for the group. After the zeppelin is completed, we must go to Damascus to find an archaeologist who may have been kidnapped. There will be a scout there to lead us to the encampment.
