Daladium, Voran and Seoni

Voran and Daladium emerge from the portal into a forest. Fluffy the wolf is with them, but for some reason Elysant is not. In this place the sights and sounds are different from what they are used to at home. Daladium remembers very little from his childhood but he believes that he’s seen forests like this before, and he thinks the plants are called bamboo.

The friends begin looking around and Fluffy is scouting to see if he can find anything. Voran sees a shape in the woods and they circle around to try and come behind them. They are successful and come upon a female elf with white hair and bold red clothing. She introduces herself as Seoni, and asks what they are doing here. Voran explains that they are from a different place and they just arrived here. She says that they are in the Verduran Forest, and that she’s from nearby Bellis. She has been looking nearby for a cave that might have some magical treasures in it, but she has been hunted by some creatures.

Voran and Daladium say that they will help Seoni find out what’s hunting her and maybe find the cave and treasure as well. Voran sends Fluffy out again to scout and he sees something behind some trees, but it suddenly disappears. There is a growling and Voran sees a creature that is a cross between a huge monkey and a wolf. He takes a shot with his longbow and kills it, but it turns out that there were two of them! The other one lunges from behind the tree and goes toward Daladium. It floats through the air and changes shape into a huge wolf, slashing at him. Luckily it misses and Daladium tries to strike it with his sword. He strikes true but the hide of the thing is so thick, he can’t wound it.

Seoni tries to attack it with a bolt spell, but it misfires and she almost hurts herself with the magical backlash. Voran attacks the beast and also can’t get through its hide, and neither can Fluffy as he jumps and tries to bite it. Seeing the wolf, the thing gnashes Fluffy with his teeth and the animal falls to the ground, very injured.

Daladium uses an entangle spell to bind the beast with a metallic cage, and it is stuck fast. Voran attacks again and kills the beast in one blow.

Voran is very sad at the loss of his wolf, and buries it tearfully. The friends decide to travel to nearby Bellis to seek safety and more information, which is a two day walk from here.
